Highlights
Mira Mesa Community Park Phase II
Phase II adds an aquatic center, an all-wheels park, recreation-center upgrades, new play spaces, and other long-awaited improvements.
Marcy Park Improvements
Final funding and delivery of long-awaited park and playground improvements at Marcy Neighborhood Park — made possible thanks to years of advocacy by University City residents.
Convoy District Gateway Sign
Kent championed the gateway sign, which opened in 2024 to recognize Convoy’s cultural identity and the immigrant- and family-owned businesses that built the district.
Gold Coast Drive + Parkdale Avenue reconstruction
Reconstruction work on two well-used Mira Mesa streets was completed in 2026.
University Community Library renovations
The library reopened in June 2026 with new flooring, shelving, restrooms, acoustic panels, paint, signage, public furniture, service desks, and HVAC work.
Epicentre Youth Center
Kent supported the City–County partnership bringing the long-closed Epicentre back as a resource for young people in Mira Mesa.
Restoring library and recreation center hours
Kent has continuously fought for - and secured - restorations of library and recreation hours all throughout District 6 as well as across the City.
Protecting arts & culture
When proposed cuts put most City arts and cultural funding at risk, Kent partnered with Councilmember Henry Foster and the Prebys Foundation, assembling a plan that delivered significant restoration of funding.
