The library reopened in June 2026 with new flooring, shelving, restrooms, acoustic panels, paint, signage, public furniture, service desks, and HVAC work.

Kent has continuously fought for - and secured - restorations of library and recreation hours all throughout District 6 as well as across the City.

When proposed cuts put most City arts and cultural funding at risk, Kent partnered with Councilmember Henry Foster and the Prebys Foundation, assembling a plan that delivered significant restoration of funding.
